My grandpa will probably die on Saturday.
He's been dying for 6 years.
I'm unsure about how to feel right now.

all this beauty
Oh where do my bluebird fly?
Great, great weekend. The best in a long while.
Went out dancing with the girls. As in, ballroom dancing class at the Union wif my roommate and our neighbors.

That's me and Ezra, one of the nicest partners I had. We were both pretty new, but he was willing to figure out the dances we didn't know! I really appreciated that. His friend took this.
Then Mary, Holly, and I went to Common Grounds and just sat and had fancy drinks and watched the night life. And then, while we were walking back, Tyler Scogin came to the rescue like always except I totally thought he was some leering creep at first. But he wasn't. We all went back to pomfret and watched DANNY PHANTOM episodes. Netflix FTW. There are like 53 or something. We can watch all of them. I think Mary is an even bigger nerd about that show than I am, which is awesome. Both the show and her love of it.
And den Saturday was weird and static but the night, ooohhhh the night. Cody Davis and I roamed the dark streets, and happened on purpose upon an obsure indie hole in the wall called Big Momma's. But really, no one knows that place exists, even though it's right off the busiest street in Fayetteville. Cody works there, and we had a blast dancing and laughing while we helped our new friend Kelly close up shop. It's an up and coming after-hours dance hall. Tell your (hipster) friends.
Then Cody and I kicked back at my place with too much caffeine and Chelsea James. We all watched Food, Inc. I think they're now vegetarians. It was so nice to have people get as angry and energetic as I did when I first started learning about all of the shitty secrets of the food industry. I got to vent and they got to be excited and they're both really excited to get involved with SoS. :D
And now I have finals...... that I should be studying for right now..............but I helped my family decorate yesterday, which was nice. Scott was in not-taking-ADD-meds-cuz-weekend-hehehehehe mode, but I enjoyed it. We also rediscovered the joy that is Yoshi Story.

maybe I could go to teddy bear heaven, just like her, cause she went when she was eleven
There are so many times when I wish I were Regina Spektor. She is a serious badass with an unbelievable songwriting ability. Seriously. And she's so weird! God, she's creepy and interesting and weaves in and out of styles so fluidly.
Bring your own shovel, BYOS, bring your own shovel and shovel up the mess.
Songwriting has more or less been sputtering around in the back of my head since I was in elementary school. Some of my earliest hits included "Let's Go Dance, Let's Go Play (Let's Go Have Some Fun) " and "Baseball Dolls". These and many more classics were perfected in the shower and then recorded in various notebooks over the years (all of them, I'm almost positive, featuring at least one purple flower on the cover). These nuggets of pure musical gold were only shared with my closest friends, or anyone who I thought would give a damn. Most didn't.
My middle school days were heavily influenced by Avril and Vanessa Carlton. And No Secrets (responsible for the Kids in America cover in the Jimmy Neutron movie) This combined with my rapid puberty and social life that consisted of Nancy Drew computer games and the Sims led to
overwhelmingly angsty ballads about darkness and painfully unreciprocated love. One memory I haven't managed to repress is me performing this-acapella- in front of my 6th grade music class.
In the past few years, I've started trying to semi-seriously revisit that old hobby. But I can't shake that feeling of being seen as silly. Or childish. i guess because I associate that with my childhood. I feel more self conscious about it than I did as a kid. I don't want to tell or show anyone. But I love writing music and playing music and playing with words and sounds and rhythm. I don't know. I just wish I felt more confident about it, and I wish I had skills like Regina.
I would kill to be a jazz singer. Maybe if I can perfect my skattin', I can start touring as a Louis Armstrong impersonator.
