pleasantry

I got home from Belize last night at midnight. As you can tell, I did not update at all from Belize. But I diligently journaled, which perhaps is better. My thoughts can be mine alone.

Right now I'm sitting with my mother by our little pool area, on a black whicker 'settee' (as Mammy calls it). She's wearing my straw hat and drinking sweet tea. We're surrounded by pillows she made and potted plants. The setting sun is casting shadows and sparkles over the leaves and flowers and our bare feet resting on the coffee table. Our hammock chairs sways ever so slightly in the breeze. My cat voices his unhappiness at nothing in particular. My dog roams free through the clover patch.

There's no where else I would rather be.

Pastels

Shoot. I have so much to do tonight. But I would rather blog instead? So productive.

Last night, I had a really vivid dream about hiking with my family, except it didn't start being my actual family until later in the dream. Also we were hiking on Brooks Mountain. Like, up Pete's driveway. Then the cops came, and I talked to them, and they were very suspicious. They tell me that neighbors have reported a house fire (no idea where that came from), all while people are screaming at each other in the background. So then the cops and I go back to the rest of my family, and Ryan tells me, "Don't worry, I got this." And so we all introduce ourselves to the cops, and Ryan pretends to be retarded. It was so funny, and so bizarre. I have no idea why I dreamt that. The night before last, I dreamed there was some weird futuristic revolutionary world, and we were hiding out in the litmag room, which then turned into a house, and like all of the people in school were there, but then it was just five of us, and then we had to pose as a family that was supposed to be living in this random house... I really don't know. But I've been having really detailed dreams like this lately.

In other news, I had straight hair today. A lot of people reacted a lot more enthusiastically than usual. Including Suzie Stewart. And I bought this after school:

$2! It was 50% off. It doesn't fit around my head completely but I DON'T CARE.

Maybe I'll wear it to prom. Which is in a month? What? I believe it at all. Today Mr. Spencer said, "You'll be all done before you know it". I believe that.

Okay. Focus time. Readygo.
